 May 14, 2003滋賀県大津市南郷 旧南郷洗堰は人力で水位調節を行っていたため，作業に長い時間を要した（開門24時間，閉門48時間）。1953年の台風13号による大雨に対する調節が間に合わなかったことが宇治川破堤の要因の一つと考えられたため，国は機械制御による新しい洗堰の設置による琵琶湖水位の調節を打ち出した。この新しい洗堰は1961年に完成した。 Nango, Otsu City, Shiga Pref. The old weir was operated by human power. So, it took long time to operate (24 hours to open, 48 hours to close). One of factor of Uji River's levee break was considered that the operation of old weir was late for controling the flood. The Government decided controling the level of Lake Biwa by the new weir which is machine-operated. This new weir was completed in 1961. |
