Mar. 2003 　「越すに越されぬ」と詠われた東海道五十三次の金谷宿（金谷駅）と島田宿（島田駅）の間を歩いてみた。赤石山脈（南アルプス）から流れ出る大井川は，雪解けの進む3月末でありながら水量は少ない。上流の発電用ダムが水を止めてしまっている可能性がある。   I walked along famous section of old Tokaido Route that is between Kanaya and Shimada. The stream of Ooi River was very small althogh it was March with the thaw. There is a possibility that many dams on upper stream kept back the water of this river.
